Why Financial Advisor?

The role of a financial advisor is to correctly identify client's financial needs e.g. the need to protect earned income against Death, Serious Illness, and Accident.
  1. Correctly Quantify the level of any need or needs identified e.g. how much life cover does a particular client need.

  2. Prioritise the clients identified financial needs, so that the most important needs are satisfied and dealt with first e.g. the client may be simply unable to afford the cost of all the recommendations made.

  3. Recommend action and financial products, where needed, that best meet the client's current and anticipated needs as efficiently as possible within the client's resources

Some things to consider

Debts: Protect loans against death / serious illness. If this has been done at the time of borrowing direct with your bank, review cost of protection.

Income Protection: If you were unable to carry out your normal occupation for a prolonged period due an illness or injury. How will you pay the bills? If you are self-employed you have no entitlement to state benefit.

Partnerships: Should your business partner die or become seriously ill. How are you affected?

Key person: The death of a key shareholder or employee could, in certain circumstance, lead to a financial loss to the company, due to the particular expertise, experience or contacts the individual had.

Pensions: Plan for your retirement now to make sure you enjoy a comfortable retirement.

Employees Pension Obligation: As an employer it is your legal responsibility (sections 121 & 123 of the Pensions Act, 1990) to ensure your employees have access to a PRSA through you if they are not already included in a pension scheme provided by you.
